Welcome to our first Supplement Breakdown!
In these posts we'll dive deeper into the active supplement ingredients in our 1 Shot Energy Chews, explaining where they come from and what they do for you!
We noticed not many companies disclose (let alone explain) how their supplemental ingredients work, and why they even put them in their formulas!! We wanted to break the mold and actually explain why we formulated our chews the way we did, and what each and every ingredients benefits are! So let's dive in.
We'll kick things off with Taurine...
You've probably heard of it! And you've probably seen in all over energy drink cans in stores and online. It's name is ubiquitous with brands like Redbull, Monster, Rockstar and more. But what the hell is it even!? Is it Bull Piss like the rumors say? Spoiler no...it's not. While it can be derived from animals (including Bull Testicles), the Taurine found in energy drinks and in our chews is not derived from animal products. The Taurine that is used in energy products is chemically synthesized using the same process our (and other animal bodies) use to naturally produce Taurine (mostly in our stomach/intestines). Our bodies are actually about 0.1% Taurine by body weight!
So now that you know it's not made from animal parts/Bull Piss, what is it anyway?
Taurine is an amino acid that is naturally produced in the body. It has antioxidant properties and is also important/used in several of the body's metabolic processes. Taurine has important functions in the heart and brain that help support nerve growth, lower blood pressure and calm the nervous system.
While your body makes Taurine on it's own, using supplemental Taurine helps with mental focus and fortitude. Studies also show that in combination with Caffeine it works to an even grater effect.
So how much Taurine is healthy to take?
Most professional nutritionists/dieticians recommend anywhere from 40mg to 600mg of Taurine per day. Our 1 Shot Energy chews have 100mg of Taurine per piece, making every chew a healthy and effective serving of Taurine while still allowing you to safely increase your dose with multiple pieces.
Let's Recap
Taurine is a naturally produced amino acid that helps support mental fortitude and heart function. Taken as a supplement it is recommended in doses of 40mg to 600mg per day. In an energy forumla like our 1 Shot Energy Chews (and other energy products) it works with Caffeine to improve your mental focus, lower blood pressure and help combat the negative side effects of caffeine (such as jitters and crash).
We hope this helps you understand a bit more about what you're taking! If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@1shotenergy.com
