TLDR: t-Pain throat drops, review from professional singer, tried these for the heck of it and very surprised at the low sugar, high quality and Natural ingredients and legitimate effectiveness of the product after Singing for a combined total of 14 hours in three days
First of all, the obligatory "I don't usually write reviews" but it is true, I don't
These products probably came up in my Facebook feed and for whatever reason that day I decided to go for it. Along with the bag of throat drops, I actually got the small packs of the "energy" chews and the bag of the "focus" chews.
On a sidenote for those two products, I wasn't a huge fan of the energy chews.
For me they had what I would describe as a sort of a "dark jittery" feeling, but I think that's likely just because I'm a regular full-time coffee drinker lol and I probably just prefer that delivery system and didn't really benefit from what they were offering, so they were neutral for me.
However the focus chews were the first kind of product like this I've ever tried and I have to say I think they do exactly what they are meant to do. I felt like I genuinely got a bit of a mental lift and some clarity/energy without a stimulant feeling from the chews. They have actually started to replace my "afternoon/evening" pot of coffee (Yes a second pot, ha) and that's a good thing.
Now onto the biggest surprise which were the throat drops which, to be honest, I thought with the celebrity branded nature of them that they would be candy basically.
I sing/perform and compose for a living. The area I live in I could be booked every day but I'm typically playing 4-5 gigs a week. I do long sets solo and also perform with a funk/soul band with a horn section and a Morgan Wallen tribute and do studio work for a prog rock project.
These all require different approaches to singing and I'm always juggling multiple things and singing many hours a day. Additionally, I hate to admit it but for the last couple of years I've been smoking a couple packs a week of American spirits black cigarettes.
Though I haven't experienced debilitating wear on my voice yet, it is often a bit rough and groggy those first hours in the morning. I have typically used a combination of Manuka honey drops and throat coat lemon ginger echinacea drops to get me in a good place through my natural process of warming up
This weekend I had a chance to try the one shot throat drops before a solo show that ended up being seven hours because I took on a second set after the scheduled Musician flaked.
The next night I had a two hour set with the tribute project. And the next night a four set on a cloudy rooftop for a corporate function.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that these things actually legitimately work. And they are different from other drops I've used. First of all it was great to realize that they weren't super sweet and loaded with sugar. Secondly, when I looked at the ingredients on the back I couldn't believe it was what mostly look like all natural ingredients.
All I can say is, it's hard to describe but it's like it relaxed my vocal folds into a place where they just felt sort of ready to sing across the range of my voice. The "bumps" in the road of my vocal range seemed to be tamed out. Interestingly, they didn't really give me a wet "lubricated" feeling like the other lozenges do but it worked somehow, especially because sometimes I might even have one in my mouth while I'm singing which is probably a bad idea. :-)
I noticed also that they don't melt down really fast and they have this sort of traction on the surface that keeps it from slipping around all over in your mouth but doesn't seem to tear up your mouth although I didn't have more than a couple in a row because they lasted so long.
I haven't directly compared their press point against the other lozenges I use which I always buy together in their separate packs, but I will say because of the nature of how they melt so slowly I don't think I'll be using nearly as many of them as my other ones
I am surprised to say I would recommend these. I think for singers working professionally and performing with a heavy schedule, these definitely seem Effective for normal wear and tear and giving your vocal folds a little TLC.
For the time being I'll likely just subscribe to shipments of the throat drops and the focus chews.🤘🏻Give them a go. I think you will pleasantly surprised like I was
